In his Twenty short years on this planet, Zach has managed to write, record, experiment and tamper with just about every genre of music out there. Born in Vancouver, Canada in 1988, to a father who was a Musician/Producer and a mother who was an artistic Photographer, Zach was introduced to creativity at a very young age. He attempted to write his first song at the age of four. Barely being able to write – let alone sing – the turn out was imaginably not great, but all the same impressive. At around the same point in time, Zach was forced to deal with the pain of his parents separation and turned to his father’s music as therapy. Nonetheless, he was very fortunate to receive a proper up-bringing minus the “broken-home” synopsis, due to the strength provided by his influences.
In High-school, Zach was in and out of musical groups including a lengthy stint with hip-hop as a producer/writer. He enrolled in a course which was introduced by his school, entitled Music Composition where he learned to put sounds together using synthesizers and samplers with such programs as Reason and Digital Performer. This opened doors to a whole new world where, without the costly set-back of high-end studios, he was able to create music and share it with others.
Completing a college level Certificate program in Music Production, Zach is on yet another path of musical exploration writing music for his upcoming album, “Love, Lust & Liquor” which has been quoted as, “Acoustic-Soul… love songs for a modern society.” Infatuated with the sounds of old Motown, the innovative influence of the Beatles and the clever recycling process of the Golden Years of hip hop, Zach’s music is an interesting mesh of all; authentic, convincing and real.
